If you are going to attend the Liturgy in a particular Church other than your own, you may wish to call ahead and speak with the pastor. Issues of concern might be language of the Liturgy and instruction on how to receive Holy Communion.

I love the Byzantine Catholic church near my in-laws, and visit it whenever I get the chance, but I’m glad I knew enough to attend the one in English and not Slovakian. 👍

Most parishes will have a website, or at least you can get the schedule with the language used from the website of the Eparchy.

Receiving isn’t hard. Just follow what the guy in front of you does.

No matter what happens, you’re still going to get whacked in the molars with the holy spoon.

Hasn’t happened to me with our regular priests. Although it has with some of the visiting priests.

Molars?

Not all Churches use spoons. Melkite priests intinct and distribute by hand in my experience.

Dont’ worry about being technical: As long as it is Catholic (and there are LOTS of different styles of Catholic churches) You can’t go wrong.

No different as if you went to a monastery, a cloister (like Mother Angelica’s) or anything else. As long as it is Catholic dont worry. Who knows, you might be totally inspired by the Holy Spirit!
