=denwiles;5231417]Oh my little brother in the Lord what do I do with you? LOL. NO!
Took me a little while to come back to this thread, so I can provide a measured response.
I am not your little brother! We may be brothers in Christ, but…
what appears to be a condescending tone is, shall I say, not well received.
Why does man have to do all these religious things now? Thats not God. Are you like all religious with your dad? Does your dad say “Son you did me wrong, so you can’t come to me and must come to me through your mother?” No!!! When you do him wrong and go to Him he excepts you and forgive you. If He is a good Father. God is the Good Father.
I’m not sure what you’re talking about, here. I mentioned 3 essentials: Baptism, the Eucharist, and Confession and Absolution. These are three of the most important ways God has made himself available to us. They are not some extra-scriptural hoops to jump. They are the means of Grace, instituted by Christ himself. I celebrate them, find joy and comfort in them, and thank God for them.

As for the reference to Mary, I’m not Catholic, but yeah, there were times I went through my mom when I had done wrong, not because I feared my dad, but because I was ashamed I had dissapointed him. I don’t practice intercessory prayer to the Blessed Virgin, but I understand why Catholics do it.

Jon you Rock!!!

It seem a lot of christian forget the passage in the Bible were Jesus sent the Apostles out and told them to forgive sins. I just wonder how they were to do that if the person did not first confess their sins to them.🤷

I to not only would go to my mother but if I knew I was in real deep trouble would go to my Grandmother, a uncle, a real close family friend. knowing the whole time they would either go to my Dad or go with me to talk to my Dad. most time after going to someone else first it made it easier then to go and talk to my dad without that person have to talk to him first or be there with me.
