That the Church does not impose the requirement of head covering for women at all times shows that this is a matter of “tradition” which is not required and not “Tradition” which is.
As we know, it is mandatory in most monasteries and many parishes. The parishes that say nothing are leaving it up to the people to be informed for themselves. And for this we have St Paul and many of the Church Fathers to tell them. Let us be attentive!

“There are angels in the midst of our assembly. We have here a twofold Church, one of men, the other of angels. And since there are angels present, women, when they pray, are ordered to have a covering upon their heads because of those angels. They assist the saints and rejoice in the Church.”
Origen

Monasteries and parishes do not have authority over the universal Church. And it’s the Church that interprets St. Paul’s words for the membership not you or me or anyone else here. And the church fathers do not have authority to bind the universal Church. The Church has not imposed head covering for women at all times and all places.

The “Universal Church” does not tell the monasteries and parishes to stop mandating head coverings.

The Church Fathers are part of Sacred Tradition. They have interpreted St Paul’s words. There ya have it! 👍

The Church stays ambiguous on the subject allowing the laity to read St Paul and the Church fathers so as to decide for themselves. And the answer is obvious. 👍

Here’s the point which often comes around with the CC. Its really not about reading into what one doesn’t have to do or what is not required. While it is true today and from the 80’s this has been more relaxed by canon, surely its established here that this is secular influence historically. Secular fashion style/heat have never been a issue in the holy land and from Judaism through Christ/Mary and the incarnation. So when we say the Church interprets our Tradition. This aspect has never changed. Its has always been the Tradition of the Church. Its been overran by secular thinking, who by large today works from the what is required list. There’s two lists, there is the what’s required one, then there’s the what else can I do list. The what is required list is always under attack and it always will be, for that is the nature of what we are contending with. That is the area the secular/religious collide, where there are those who would rather drag down the Church to the level they are at. rather than to come up any higher to the level the Church has in fact always been. This is repetitive in the Church, one doesn’t have to look far to see secular thinking assaults the Church from every angle, its no mystery that they would place the Church in an isolated closet, where it would remain to collect dust and be forgotten. Can’t have the Church affect the modern evolution of man and his progress by some antiquated thinking.

This thinking is exemplified with Nancy Pelosi, who’s thinking is “I am not in Church, we will talk about Church in Church”. That is the attitude, which is as we see is a prevailing attitude at the moment which brings secular into Church. Then once there the breach further continues in compromise. While this issue isn’t a tell all of one’s Faith, its certainly reflective of the secular influence and temptation which confronts the religious. And as you see this affects even the orders and definitely the Church’s as a whole.

Its obvious the head veils have never left from the EF Mass and the Sisters orders, and they do exist in the OF. Anyway just my :twocents: Its not about to shame anyone or dictate through psychological abuse etc. Its just the proper perspective, its the truth.
