What attributes of particular Saints do you most admire and would long to emulate?

I’ve heard some people in the past saying they had to have the patience of Job for example to deal with something or other.

St. John bosco, worked with troubled kids. As a teacher I really look up to him and his patient yet firm ways.

How they trusted in God even when they felt abandoned by Him.

How they patiently and resolutely bore their crosses without complaint.

These two traits were common amongst many saints.

St Gianna beretta Molla seemed really smart, but very kind and she put God front and center.

I admire the martyrs of the early church. Having the courage to die for your faith compared with renouncing it when faced with torture and death.

The Church should ask his intercession during these troubled times. He is a good example for laity and clergy alike.

St. Francis of Assisi, for having the courage to denounce what society, and even his own father, expected of him to radically follow God in ways that made no sense to the worldly of his day.

St. Jude I admire because many mistook him for the evil one when in fact he was not. His feast day was not long ago and I mentioned him in a Facebook post, and that culminated into me getting a Jezebel spirit off my back.

Great faith. Trust in God. Patience. Humility. Self-restraint. Spiritual Fortitude.

I like Bl. Miguel Pro and Bl. Jerzy Popieluszko for bravely standing up to oppressive regimes and continuing their work as priests even though they ended up being murdered for it. There are many more priests who are saints/ on the path to sainthood who did this. Fr. Pro and Fr. Popieluszko just happened to draw international attention when they died and their deaths helped to end the oppression against the church.

St. Teresa of Avila bravely stood up to oppressive regimes within the Church, herself.

And all three of these saints had a great sense of humor.

I also liked St. Francis de Sales for teaching people how holiness could be achieved even within ordinary life. And he along with St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother wasn’t afraid to defend physically when necessary to do good.

I admired St Francis when having been robbed and left naked he jumped up and continued his journey through the woods singing Gods praises, for teaching him more humility!

Wonderful

I admire St. John Chrysosthom for his faith in God and how he never compromised it for positions not even when he became bishop (which he did not want to be) and then he never compromised the truth not even when he had to fight the secular powers of empress Eudoxia, was then betrayed by his brothers in Christ even by the bishop who ordained him bishop and accepted exile and losing all recognition.

I really want to be like St. Therese and offer up the little things and just try my best with those. I’d also love t have the courage every day like St. Joan has since she’s my patron. And also to be like Mary and say “yes” right away no matter how hard or scary something may be when God wants me to do it.
I think while we do need to look to saints for inspiration, we should be careful not to think we must be exactly like them. I believe Mother Angelica said we need to be the saints WE were made to be. But yes, there are so many amazing saints to admire and discover and emulate when we can! God has been so good to us!
