Does anyone know where I can get free or cheap downloads of things like the Nicene Creed and the like. I just can’t get some of this stuff memorized like it, the Gloria, and a few others. I commute to work 2 hrs a day and it would be the perfect time to do some listening, especially since I have no Catholic radio station…😦

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I would have thought this would have been something people would have. Well, any good not so free or cheap audiotapes or downloads? I’m just not good at memorization from a standpoint of reading. But put it to audio and it’s like the latest dreadful popsong-stuck in my ears forever. I still find myself singing New Kids on the Block and Milli Vanilli!😦

I would have thought so too… I found lots of latin prayers, but one available in audio… It’d be easier to learn how to pronouce latin if I could hear it… 😉

Well, I found a book on tape prayer book and even a latin high mass on tape/cd on bamm.com but they don’t take my giftcard…😦

Thanks Brendan! Unfortunately, that’s the only thing I DO have on CD!:o

But at least it’s here for whoever wants or needs it!

You might try looking for the book “Let’s Read Latin” It comes with a tape to aid in pronunciation

the advice we give to parents, who are expected to teach the prayers to children at home, is that the best way to learn the prayers is by praying them. that is preferrably to sitting the child at the kitchen table and forcing him to memorize like it was a list of spelling words. Also pray in such a way that you think of the meaning of the words. The rosary is of course the best, fastest way, even if you have to use a “cheat sheet” for a while. Attending Mass frequently and praying the prayers with a missal is the best way to learn the Mass prayers.

get a rosary CD and play it in the car. I am sure there are CDs for religious ed with the other prayers you are looking for.

Yeah, you’re right. I do have audio versions of the rosary, though. One from the rosary center and one from the parish school. I waded through a couple of online stores inventories yesterday and couldn’t find anything. I then went to a local retail bookstore and they had even less. Although, they did have an excellent selection of books (I picked up a Sunday Missal and St. Joseph’s Prayer Book)!

There does appear to be be a St. Joseph’s Prayer Book audio tape but I don’t know if it has everything the book has.
