Hello all!

I’ve been wanting to listen to some Eastern Catholic Liturgies, particular Byzantine. I used to listen to the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom that the Byzantine Orthodox put out and it was beautiful. I would like to listen to any others from other Churches in the Catholic Church. I have two from the Maronites, which I never get tired of.

Preferably something that I could put on my iPod and listen to on long trips and such. It doesn’t even matter if it’s Byzantine or Oriental Orthodox. Thanks in advance!

Alloho minokhoun,
Andrew

Dear Friend,

I have a podcast called “Byzantine Catholic Word”. This is a episodic program that is published daily that includes the daily scripture readings that are used throughout the Byzantine Catholic liturgical calander. I use audio files found on the Metropolitan Cantor Institute’s website. Listed below is the feed URL if you would like to subscribe to it.

Dear Harpazo,

Vatican Radio (www.radiovaticana.org/en1/diretta.asp) stream several liturgies on Sunday mornings Rome time.
Audio Channel 2 at 0610 UTC - Rumenian Liturgy.
Audio Channel 2 at 0830 UTC - Ge’ez Liturgy (1st Sunday of the month).
Audio Channel 2 at 0830 UTC - Oriental Liturgy (2nd,3rd & 4th; Sundays of the month.
Audio Channey 3 at 0615 UTC - Ukrainian Liturgy.
You may be able to capture the streaming audio live as I often do. Mind you, I suspect you will have to be up in the middle of the night being from the States. Oh Yes, Audio Channel 4 streams some of these liturgies an hour or so later, anyway you will be able to see on the various schedules. I hope this is of some help, Blessings from Rural Australia, Doug.
