Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary:
In this feast, particularly cherished by the Popes of modern times, we celebrate Mary as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Pope Pius XII in the Papal Encyclical Ad Coeli Reginam proposed the traditional doctrine on the Queenship of Mary and established this feast for the Universal Church.
Pope Pius IX said of Mary’s queenship: “Turning her maternal Heart toward us and dealing with the affair of our salvation, she is concerned with the whole human race. Constituted by the Lord Queen of Heaven and earth, and exalted above all choirs of Angels and the ranks of Saints in Heaven, standing at the right hand of Her only-begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, she petitions most powerfully with Her maternal prayers, and she obtains what she seeks.”
And Pope Pius XII added the following: "We commend that on the festival there be renewed the consecration of the human race to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Upon this there is founded a great hope that there will rejoice in the triumph of religion and in Christian peace…
…Therefore, let all approach with greater confidence now than before, to the throne of mercy and grace of our Queen and Mother to beg help in difficultly, light in darkness and solace in trouble and sorrow…
. . Whoever, therefore, honours the lady ruler of the Angels and of men - and let no one think themselves exempt from the payment of that tribute of a grateful and loving soul - let them call upon her as most truly Queen and as the Queen who brings the blessings of peace, that She may show us all, after this exile, Jesus, who will be our enduring peace and joy." – from CNA HERE
I renewed my Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary this morning, and I encourage all who are reading this to use the link HERE to renew their Consecration today. Even if you have not made the 33 day preparation, read the prayer with the eyes of your heart and give yourself totally. If you have never read St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion, why not begin today?

Blessings on this beautiful day of remembering Mary, our Queen and Mother!

Praise to Jesus Christ for our Merciful Queen and Mother! We can never understand how humble and mild she is, or how much she loves us, being the channel of Christ’s Infinite Mercy, and the neck of the mystical of the Mystical Body of Christ.

And as the great theologian Fr. Lagrange says in The Mother of the Savior: “Mary is not mother of men in general, but of each person in particular.”

Here is Pope St. JPII:

She was exalted by the Lord as Queen of the Universe, in order that she might be the more thoroughly conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords (cf. Rev. 19:16) and the conqueror of sin and death."108 In this teaching Pius XII was in continuity with Tradition, which has found many different expressions in the history of the Church, both in the East and in the West.

… she also has that specifically maternal role of mediatrix of mercy at his final coming, when all those who belong to Christ “shall be made alive,” when “the last enemy to be destroyed is death” (1 Cor. 15:26)."110

Connected with this exaltation of the noble "Daughter of Sion"111 through her Assumption into heaven is the mystery of her eternal glory. For the Mother of Christ is glorified as "Queen of the Universe.“112 She who at the Annunciation called herself the “handmaid of the Lord” remained throughout her earthly life faithful to what this name expresses. In this she confirmed that she was a true “disciple” of Christ, who strongly emphasized that his mission was one of service: the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mt. 20:28). In this way Mary became the first of those who, "serving Christ also in others, with humility and patience lead their brothers and sisters to that King whom to serve is to reign,"113 and she fully obtained that “state of royal freedom” proper to Christ’s disciples: to serve means to reign!

Congratulations on renewing your consecration. I am not prepared to do Total Consecration at this stage of my life but some day I think I will be doing.

Dear abinjoy,

Hopefully, by God’s Grace, you will to led to read St. Louis De Montfort’s little book: True Devotion and pray the Act of Total Consecration. I count it as one of the greatest graces in my life to have prayed that Act of Consecration as a young person, and to have known Mary’s continued love for me for many, years now.

St. John Paul II read this little book as a young and and said that it was a “turning point in his Life”. St. Teresa of Calcutta encouraged her Missionaries of Charity to read this little book also. Both of them prayed the Act of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. An interesting admission of Servant of God Frank Duff, Founder of the Legion of Mary, is that he had to read Demontfort’s book several times before he began to understand the Truth of it! If you’re interested in reading about his experience you can read more HERE

Thanks so much for your reply and your desire to love Jesus through Mary even more some day! 🙂 May the Lord bless you and all of us abundantly on this celebration of His Queen Mother.

Thanks, dear brother,

St. John Paul II was gifted with such a beautiful love and appreciation for Our Mother, given to us by Jesus from His Cross! The quotes you’ve shared here from JPII’s encyclical “Redemptoris Mater” (Mother of the Redeemer) are so appropriate for today. May we learn from our humble Savior Jesus as our dear Mother learned – to love and to serve as He did. Truly: to serve is to reign!

Yes, we are so safe, dear sister, with Mary as our Mother and Queen in Heaven, body and soul, interceding for us with Jesus Christ, the Infinite Goodness.

Yes, we are safe with Mary, if we remain as she did close to Jesus. 🙂 We need to keep remembering her words to the servants at Cana: “Do whatever He tells you”. St. Louis de Montfort’s 33 day Preparation for Consecration reminds us of how important it is to continue our ongoing conversion.

Yes, dear sister MariaChristi. And as St. Faustina tells us, Christ’s Will is Love and Mercy itself. That is why he gives us his own Mother to help us. Blessed be God for His Infinite Goodness.
