Hi,

A friend and myself are reading Augustine’s “Christian Doctrine”. We are only on the preface, but Augustine already rips to shreds Lutheran and Protestant doctrine of Scripture alone. The preface can be read here : newadvent.org/fathers/12020.htm

I wanted to know what others of you think of this piece of writing?

Joshua

How so, Joshua?

Jon
First of all, have you read the preface that I linked to? It is very short and concise, about 9 paragraphs long. If you have not read it, please read it. If you have read it, I am wondering if you do not think that Augustine would condemn Sola Scriptura, or you do not think he adequately disproves its validity.

Yes, I read it. I don’t know if he would condemn it, and he doesn’t based on the preface you linked to. So, how do you think he condemns it in the preface?
