Instead of closing down the hospitals or complying, just simply refuse to comply. Catholics have the moral obligation to disobey all immoral laws. Shutting down hospitals or adoption agencies won’t do anything more than encourage the secularists.

Sure, we’ll suffer some consequences, but can they be any worse than what the Apostles and the early Church suffered for refusing to obey the Roman empire regarding emperor worship or the prohibition against Christianity?

Agreed. It is time we fight back. There is a war going on against Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular and we need to start acting like there is.

LOLOLOLOL Funny. Yeah, good luck. To many Catholic wimps in this nation.
 
I think this is something the government needs to consider and the Church has been upfront about it. If this law is passed, the Catholic hospitals will close both their maternity wards and their emergency departments, and perhaps the entire hospitals altogether, sending all those extra patients to the public system which is already overloaded.

However, we wouldn’t need to make a stand if they weren’t trying to force Catholic hospitals and doctors to perform abortions. The coercion is actually on the government’s side saying, “If you want to stay open or be a doctor, you must perform abortions.” I think they have been taken somewhat aback with the response. They never expected Catholic hospitals to say they would terminate those services instead.

I am praying that this proposed law does not pass.

That’s my point. There is no will to do what needs to be done. We cannot “offend” others, right? We cannot get angry, right? Then we will lose. We cannot even get a protest together to express our outrage because we are either too lazy, too scared, or too nice. We will lose. Candle light vigils intimidate NO politician.

That is my helpful tip for the day, which you will probably write off as extreme. That is why we lose.
