Matthew 28:18-28
18 Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” John 20:21-23 21 (Jesus) said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit. 23 Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”
1 Corinthians** 11:23-24 ** 23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night he was handed over, took bread, 24 and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, “This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
**Luke 10:16 **16 Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me."
**Matthew 18:17-18 **17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. 14 If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. 18 Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Laying of Hands
1 Timothy 5:22

22 Do not lay hands too readily on anyone, and do not share in another’s sins. Keep yourself pure.

2 Timothy 1:6
6 For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands.

2 Chronicles 19:11
11 See now, Amariah is high priest over you in everything that pertains to the LORD, and Zebadiah, son of Ishmael, is leader of the house of Judah in all that pertains to the king; and the Levites will be your officials. Act firmly, and the LORD will be with the good." ****

Malachi 2:7
7 For the lips of the priest are to keep knowledge, and instruction is to be sought from his mouth, because he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

Ephesians 2:17-20****
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near,
18 for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God,
20 built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone

Ephesians 4:11
11 And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,****

1 Corinthians 12:28******
28 Some people God has designated in the church to be, first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then, mighty deeds; then, gifts of healing, assistance, administration, and varieties of tongues.

Acts 1:20, 25-26
20 For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘Let his encampment become desolate, and may no one dwell in it.’ And: ‘May another take his office.’
25 to take the place in this apostolic ministry from which Judas turned away to go to his own place."
26 Then they gave lots to them, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was counted with the eleven apostles.

Acts 14:23
23 They appointed presbyters for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, commended them to the Lord in whom they had put their faith.

1 Timothy 3:1-2****
1 This saying is trustworthy: whoever aspires to the office of bishop desires a noble task.
2 Therefore, a bishop must be irreproachable, married only once, temperate, self-controlled, decent, hospitable, able to teach,

1 Timothy 4:14
14 Do not neglect the gift you have, which was conferred on you through the prophetic word with the imposition of hands of the presbyterate.

1 Timothy 5:8,17, 22****
8 And whoever does not provide for relatives and especially family members has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
17 Presbyters who preside well deserve double honor, especially those who toil in preaching and teaching.
22 Do not lay hands too readily on anyone, and do not share in another’s sins. Keep yourself pure. ****

2 Timothy 2:1-2
1 So you, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 And what you heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will have the ability to teach others as well. ****

Titus 1:5**
**5 For this reason I left you in Crete so that you might set right what remains to be done and appoint presbyters in every town, as I directed you,

Thanks for the verses, Jimmy! I’ve copied them into a Word document - they’ll come in handy.

I wonder, what kind of power his/her church has?
Hello swariffin,

We know that the Catholic Church is the one true, full expression of Christianity and represents the Full Deposit of Faith.

Some here see what they want to.

If, a Catholic here posts something, which does not come directly from the Bible, the non-Catholics here ask, “Where is that in the Bible”?

On the other hand, if a Catholic posts Bible verses which support Catholicism, no real response…Gee, I wonder why that happens?

I believe many here know that the Catholic Church is the one true Church but they won’t admit it.

Peace

No real response, because it’s the same 4 or 5 things that are always posted about every few months and people are tired of seeing it.

If people are convinced the RCC is the one true church, they will admit it. I don’t think all the scripture you posted says as plain as you wish it did that the RCC is the church that is being talked about in said scriptures. The Orthodox believers wouldn’t agree with it, yet they are just as valid as the RCC in every respect.

Hello jesusluv,

Are you Orthodox? The thread title here says "Catholic” and doesn’t distinguish between Roman Catholic and Orthodox, so I don’t understand your comment here. Could you please explain yourself?

Thank you.
