Every time I question an action or statement in my Parish (Pastor, Priest or DRE) or even at the Diocese, about why they are doing what they are doing Liturgically, I am told that it is sanctioned or mandated by the USCCB!
However, when I go on the web site for the USCCB, they describe themselves as a “Council”, with the purpose to “consult” rather than to dictate.
Does the USCCB have any authority? If so where in the so called chain of authority to they fit? Is not the chain of command in reverse order: Deacon, Priest, Pastor, Bishop, Pope?
