Authorship of James

What is known about the authorship of the book of James? I will be discussing this with a Protestant who is being taught that it’s the half-brother of Jesus.

Please go to the Catholic Encyclopedia and read the article on the Brethren of the Lord. While you could agree with your Protestant friend that James is a “brother of the Lord”, you will have to show him that this does not mean that they are biological brothers.
