I have a 21 year old daughter with autism, she does fine. She holds a down a part time job, & prays the rosary with the family. I think she kinda likes it because of the repetition. We always insist she go to Mass with us and there’s never any pushback from her on anything the family does spiritualy as a group.
I talk to the kids about confession some, but I don’t insist she go, it’s probably been years since her last confession. I really see her as a lamb, very innocent and I’m not sure how well she is developed in terms of a sense of sin or having a conscience. Thats sounds bad doesn’t it ? As her dad guess I should know but I’ve never gotten the sense that she’s one we need to talk to about morals, sin ect.
Luckily she’s high functioning, loves our Priest friends who also love her, and is really a joy to be around.
I appreciate this thread, it makes me see or I should say reminds me how blessed I am to have her for a daughter.
