What does anyone know about the program “Awakening The Dreamer” and the Pachamama Alliance. I was at a retreat and got a “New Age Religion” feeling from the presentation.
 
This just sounds really bad. These are the exercises that consume good time and resources. You could could be really learning the faith in a solid manner by attending a high quality and reasonably priced retreat.

Life is short. Why bother with broken spirituality and formation exercises. Go for the “real thing”, real catholicism.

I have been to several retreats. The best one so far is offered by Miles Christi - www.mileschristi.org. Look under their “Activities” link on the left side.

this is like they’re denying the reality of sin, excusing everyone as being “Misinformed” 🤷

it is a pity the real message does not really get through but is badly mauled and mangled -imho the very idea of dreams and the dreamer is trying to tell us something but is dismissed as only a dream and to be ignored - so let us just consider the case of a man who dreams that a terrible tragedy has overtaken his family and who weeps in inconsolable despair at their heartrending sufferings.But in the morning he awakens and the entire episode vanishes.The brick built house which seemed so solid,the wife and children who writhed in pain so convincingly,now become shadowy phantoms.He finds that the events were nothing more than mental creations.We have here to ask ourselves the question : who was the weeping man of this dream ?[Paul Brunton] - more later - twinc
 
There is a deeper problem with Awakening the Dreamer and that is there is no accountability when it comes to facilitator training. I had emailed one of the trainers because I knew of a trainer who had accepted gifts from a married man and sent him provocative emails and text messages. It seemed that a program that dealt with everyone being connected on the spiritual plane ought to have a concern with letting loose facilitators with thin boundaries. The person in charge of training emailed me that there are symposium facilitators who have no integrity or character - that’s just the way it was.

These symposiums can be led by someone who is not prayerful, who scouts the crowd for someone to hook up with, or goes home and does terrible things and the organization couldn’t care less.
