Not yet. She did go to Rome at the Pope’s invitation for some Charismatic gathering. She blogged about it in a positive light and the daggers from her former allies came out. Of course, the “Catholic is not really Christian” rhetoric, “whore of Babylon”, not “saved” vocal minority now condemns her, along with their condemnations of Rick Warren, Billy Graham, etc

Verdi’s Requiem Mass has always moved me to tears, but listening Andrea Bocelli sing Ave Maria can leave one breathless. There are so many great ones that it is overwhelming to choose the best. It can be argued that our religion has been the source for the greatest musical library in the history of the world. God is a truly great composer, don’t you think?

It’s a nice song to sing, and I like it very much. 👍

But it’s not a “Catholic song.”

Personally, I think it’s utter foolishness to claim one song or another is the “greatest.” Musical taste is highly personal, and there are far too many compositions from every age that meet an extremely high standard of musical excellence in an incredible variety of styles.

Glad you like the song, though. I think it’s lovely for a moment of worship.

I can think of so many really beautiful hymns running through my head right now as I type this.

God created all and that is why he should be worshipped. Jesus will come one day a second time to judge the world! And he shall reign forever and ever! That is why he is the savior as the kingdoms of the world will become the kingdoms of the Lord. And a new heaven and a new earth shall be made. And suffering will end after he judges. This is why he is the savior.
