Well, Santa Claus came early for me this year or Sv. Nikola came a little late… the mail carrier brought this AWESOME Christmas DVD & CD of traditional Rusyn Christmas carols produced and sung by seminarians from Blessed Theodore Romzha Seminary in Uzhorod, Ukraine.

It is INCREDIBLE!!!

So beautiful, so melodious, brings tears to your eyes listening to it…

All proceeds from the sale of these items goes directly to the Blessed Theodore Romzha Seminary in Uzhorod!!!
 
Can you share with us which hymns and carols are included in this work? Also, is the DVD a recording of the seminarians in concert performing these carols, or does it include other footage, perhaps of the seminary itself?

I’m certainly dating myself here, but as a young’n one of the highlights of our parish Christmas season was going caroling, from parishioner’s home to parishioner’s home, singing many of the carols on your list (ahhh… Nebo i Zemlja… gotta be my all-time fav!).

My sister remarked not too long ago about how much she missed those old Slavic carols we sang… looks like I’ve found her Christmas present! (although, if it ships from Uzhorod, she may be getting it a bit after Christmas… guess I’ll just have to call it an “Old Calendar Christmas gift!”… it ought be here by then!). 🙂

If you go to the website www.ecpubs.com you can order there or you can get their office number and order that way. They ship from Virginia/DC.

I ordered mine on Saturday on-line and got it yesterday.
