Ok, not really related to the topic of this forum, but maybe it is in a philosophical way:

“To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

Thomas Jefferson

I’m sick of paying for welfare for men and women who refuse to take financial responsibiltiy for their own children. I dont’ believe that supporting these adults is the answer to their neglect.

I don’t agree with the DARE program, because eveidence shows that it doesn’t work.

I don’t want to pay for embryonic stem cell research, becuse I abhor this “sinful and tyrannical” act.

I don’t believe that the federal gov’t should have any role in local affairs, and I’m sick of paying the fed gov’t taxes that they will “give” us back if we toe their line.

What about the rest of you? What “program” would you like to have the option to cut funding for from your tax bill?

As a believer in the strict interpretation of the 10th Amendment, there are many programs I would love to see in the rear view mirror, but there is another thought I often have.

People with certain destructive impulses once had to go to charities such as those operated by the church. There were strings attached such as reforming or at least making an attempt. Once money from the government became an entitlement, modification of behavior was no longer required. In fact, the system rewarded doing those things that perpetuated misery.

Now onto more solid grounds: I would love to keep my money that funds abortion anywhere and the money that goes to embryonic stem cell research. I would hold onto those dollars that go into Planned Parenthood and to taxes to fund what I consider obscene art.

The Iraq and Afghanistan war funding.

Oh, and subsidizing banks and brokerages.

Agreed - but very hard to put into practice.

Many peoples are tensed with their financial problems. Disbelieve is also very sinful.
