AWESOME QUOTES, PRAYERS AND BIBLE VERSES

One of the things from Catholic Answers I enjoy is learning a lot of new Bible verses, quotes and prayers. I’m going to start this thread with a verse I like. All of us take different paths to God and we have all found little treasures along the way. I hope you can share prayers, quotes, phrases and bible verses here. I will try and ad one each day. Please keep it short, if possible, and color/high-light in blue so they are easy to find.

SIRACH 2 – 2:19 / “Those who fear the Lord will seek after the things that are well pleasing to him, and those who love him will be filled with his law.”

“To be deep in history is to cease to be Protestant.”
~ John Henry Cardinal Newman

Yours in Christ,

“Few people in America hate the Catholic religion, but there are many who hate what they mistakenly believe is the Catholic religion—and if what they hate really were the Catholic religion, Catholics would hate it too.”
Bishop Fulton Sheen

Matthew 6:14-15

Awesome thread! I do digital art, and am always looking for words of inspiration for artwork. I’ll definately be bookmarking this thread for ideas!

Here’s my submission:

Stella Maris (Mary, Star of the Sea)

If the winds of temptation arise;
If you are driven upon the rocks of tribulation look to the star,
call on Mary;
If you are tossed upon the waves of pride, of ambition, of envy, of rivalry, look to the star,
call on Mary.

St Bernard of Clairvaux

Yours in Christ,

From the fullness of life and of love in Him
we have received love upon love.
The law was given through Moses
but love and truth came through Jesus, the Messiah.
No one has ever seen God
except the only begotten Son who is in the womb of the Father.
He has made God known.

Or as Luc de Villers, a professor at l’Ecole Biblique de Jerusalem translates it,

The only Son of God who came to lead us into the womb of the Father.
