No harm in going on a few dates. The conversation will come in its own time. If he “invites you back to his place” on the first date, well, you have your answer. Even if chastity was not originally on his mind, if he thinks you’re worth waiting for, he’ll wait.

Whether he’s Catholic or not shouldn’t have any bearing on sex before marriage…I know Catholic who have the morals of alley cats and Protestants the morals of saints…and vice versa…unless you’re in a serious relationship the subject shouldn’t even come up…if you are living your Catholic faith then it should become obvious to this person through your actions that would make him at the very least respectfully approach you on the subject…then you can politely tell him that because of your faith you intend to remain chaste until marriage…if you’re both serious about a relationship then you’ll find out soon enough if he respects not only you but what you believe:)

Nothing wrong with saying in a lighthearted way; “My faith is soooo important to me.” “Are you completely on board with everything the catholic church teaches?”
^^^ This! Speak about your faith, how important living the faith is to you…Oh is the Catholic faith important to you too? Do you participate in church? Are you onboard with all Catholic teaching? Not only like that you will verify if chastity is something important for this person but you will verify that you agree with him on everything as to the faith.

Ask him to go pray the Rosary with you outside the local Planned Parenthood. lol

Seriously though, you have to talk to him to get to know him, just make a comment on the news “Hey, good news about the Little Sisters of the Poor getting a SC hearing!” “Right?” “YOU Would NEVER want to pay for someones contraception, Right!!!”

That’s a good direct route.

Okay here is an UPDATE:

We are now dating long distance. For the record he is catholic. I talked about abstinence before marriage and he was on the same page but I still don’t know if he thinks contraception is okay. I under no circumstances would use contraception, so I hope he doesn’t think he can change my mind if we get married.

I feel like his personality is stronger than mine, so I’m not sure how to say that I don’t like something he says. I don’t want to come off like a nag. And, I’m not sure how else to ask him about this except to be blunt. I could use some prayers folks.

I have to ask…it’s the way you phrased that…have you dated short distance? As in, have you actually been together IRL, or is this an Internet relationship? You seemed to go from ‘there is a guy I like…’ to ‘we are now dating long distance…’ pretty quickly.
