👍 been reading this thread and thinking hey I will be 40 in a few months and we are still trying for #2, so guess I may fall in this group:) God -willing

I’m grateful that my mom and dad were over 40 when they decided to be open to life. They had me! 🙂 My sibs all think I had it easiest with parents who had lived life long enough not to get worked up over every little thing.

Sounds like babies after 40 are a combination of older=more settled and a been there, done that, frame of mind.
And I don’t really think a baby minds if Mom & Dad have white hair.

Not forty yet, but four of my relative (incl. my own mother) gave birth after forty.

This has been on my 40 (almost 41) year old mind a lot lately - thanks everyone for the responses!! 👍

I also know women who have had children after forty, and I think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. My mother had me in her late thirties, and although no other children ever came, she was open to having more children up until she had finished menopause.

I agree with the poster who said that people who say a woman is too old to have a child are idiots! Such misguided people are unduly influenced by our secular society. I did a little research on this topic myself a while back, and there are actually all kinds of advantages to having children later in life (not that there’s anything wrong with giving birth in your twenties- I don’t want to discourage people who are called to have children earlier).

I myself am in my late thirties now and still single with no children. If I ever marry, that would put me in my forties or later, and I intend to be open to the possibility of having children. I have many single friends my age who feel the same way. It’s a comfort to know that more people are having children later in life and have done so in the past. It’s God way of telling all of us that it’s not too late, and God’s time is the perfect time.

My mom gave birth to my youngest brother at age 48. She had my sister four years before that and my brother three years before that…So she had three babies in her 40s. I’m one of 8 kids and they are the three youngest and have no problems whatsoever (people were saying they’d have so many disorders). I know several families with expecting mothers in their 40s. Personally, I think it’s all up to God - if it’s His will, he will gift you with a child. Remember Sarah??

God Bless!!!

Hi, I have twin friends that were born when their mother was 41. Both beautiful, healthy, and bright girls. One known for being more supermodel pretty and the other more known for being a brainiac. Great people with great personalities!
