It is so sad to read of things like this. Really, really SAD.
 
That act is sick, but remember Love the sinner, Hate the sin.
 
Well, as we all know, these babies will get no help from Obama.
 
They certainly wouldn’t get any from the Republicans either, due to their blocking a free healthcare system. A doctor friend of mine has had to return early from a year-long exchange in the USA, because they couldn’t cope with having to deny essential treatment on cost grounds. Makes me very glad I live in a country that has healthcare free, at the point of delivery, to all. As well as the ten commandments, Christ said we would be judged on how we treated the less fortunate, including the sick. The experiences of family members in the US, when one of my relatives was dying of cancer, made me wonder how any Christian country could treat people like that.

The “prolife” issue has been burning since Ronald Reagan was
president. He was elected now 30 years ago. Not once has any of the “pro life” presidents put forth a formal amendment to the US Constitution to ban abortion. Not once…they love to exploit this issue so they can get elected. Ever since the consititution was
amended to give women the vote…its a dead issue…no politician
can run on the issue now can they? I would remind you that conservatives opposed giving women the vote…they also instituted banning alcohol too…Those were some of their big ideas of the past…based on results…how did that work out?
Obama has no authority to ban abortions any more than Bush did
but Bush exploited the issue to get elected.

Well, it’s partly because the country has historically been split 50/50 on the abortion issue, and that most politicians won’t stick out their neck to make such a radical, if necessary, move. Amendments usually only work when there is an overwhelming consensus on the matter. It’s why slavery, for example, took so long to abolish, even though there had been a strong abolitionist tradition since independence. Even now, when young people are becoming more pro-life, it’s still not enough support to institute radical change, at least if you’re talking about the procedures expected in a stable democracy.
 
The issue of slavery is not a good comparison as we had to fight a war lasting 4 years over slavery.
No, the very people who exploit the issue for political gain are the first ones to vote fewer and fewer dollars to assist a single mother support that child. They are not serious about children, only serious about getting elected. Even Hitler made abortions illegal but he did it for reasons other than what the Church teachers and by the way Catholics, jews, and Social Democrats and Communists opposed
Hitler coming to office.
