Over the past century, the Good News has taken off faster than at any other time in history.**

It took nearly 2,000 years for the gospel to spread from the early church to nearly half the world’s population. In 1900, 45.7 percent of people everywhere were aware of the gospel, according to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity (CSGC) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. More than 100 years later, that number has grown to more than 70 percent.

Well, if Moslem babies are "stopping the ‘Great Commission’ ", we should outdo them in generosity, should we not?

In order to be counted as “reached,” a group must have at least one full-time worker for every 50,000 people, and an area must be 2 percent evangelical Christian. And getting started on the Great Commission isn’t the same thing as fulfilling it.

We discussed their graphs which make no sense in other threads.

Other religions are not “rival religions.” This is the same mindset which brings us things like ISIS. These are human beings made in the image of God, each one precious in God’s sight.

The success of Christianity isn’t measured in market share. Jesus said, make disciples, baptize and teach. That’s the great commission. He said nothing about market share. Jesus let those who would not believe walk away.

And if any one will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town. (Matthew 10:14)

Worrying about market share is proselytizing. Solemn nonsense. Catholics evangelize, not proselytize. We invite. That’s exacly what paul did.
