Baby Amelia again

Baby Amelia, born at 25 1/2 weeks, has been hanging in there, growing, getting stronger, bit by bit, but still having her ups and downs. Yesterday and overnight she’s had very bad blood gases, and has been fighting an infection, which might be at the root of things. She had seemed to stabilize, her parents have been occasionally able to hold her, but then this happened.

Please keep her and her family in your prayers. The battle is not yet over, it seems.

She was delivered by emergency c-section (mom had sudden, severe preeclampsia) on April 2, at 25 1/2 weeks. She seems to be quite a fighter, but just when things seem to have calmed down, there’s another big scare. Yesterday and last evening were pretty bad; they had to turn her ventilator settings way up, her blood gases were terrible, etc. Not a very good first Mother’s Day for her mom.
