I guess that orphanages have gone out of style. The new trend is baby boxes.
Giving Birth? Who DOES That Anymore?

Planned Parenthood doesn’t want the baby to be born, they want it to be aborted!! God Bless, MemawPreach it, sister.
I think a lot of people don’t realize there even are safe-drops. There should be much more awareness raised about them, especially during child-birth classes, in hospitals, or at Planned Parenthoods.
Yes, it can be improved, but that is an argument to find a better solution, not to abandon this one.I could see good and bad here. Not in baby drop offs, just the boxes. What if the lock gets stuck, the Emergency Responders are delayed due to inclement weather or traffic, etc.
It would dampen the message of abortion, to be sure.Planned Parenthood doesn’t want the baby to be born, they want it to be aborted!! God Bless, Memaw
I, for one, had no idea about them!I think a lot of people don’t realize there even are safe-drops.
I didn’t indicate that the idea wasn’t good. I still think there should be drop of centers not boxes. Like those yellow “safe place” stickers.Yes, it can be improved, but that is an argument to find a better solution, not to abandon this one.
The bolded part is a worst-case scenario. What’s the normal scenario in a baby-in-a-dumpster/toilet scenario? Dead child.

What’s the every-case scenario in an abortion? Dead child.
Baby boxes give these human beings a chance.
There are safe drop places now - but still people do not use them, mainly, I suspect, because someone in that much trouble is already fearful and could not believe they could just walk in, hand off a baby and walk out without any of the “powers that be” giving them trouble.I didn’t indicate that the idea wasn’t good. I still think there should be drop of centers not boxes. Like those yellow “safe place” stickers.![]()
I think in this case, you are letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Yes, there is a chance the box could malfunction, but I agree with CradleJourney that many mothers in this circumstance, would be scared to approach anyone in person. If the only alternative to a “baby box” is a dumpster, then I think the risk of something happening to the baby in a “baby box” is worth taking.I didn’t indicate that the idea wasn’t good.
