I voted for Benedict Thomas (a little hard, since I have no idea what your last name is) but wait until you meet your child. Maybe when the time comes, you’ll just know.

I like Dominic Roman. Sounds distinguished. But yeah, the other poster is right wait til the baby is born then you can really decide.

Congrats on the baby boy!!! God bless!

Though I like Dominick Roman, I don’t like Dominic spelled with a K at the end, that being said I vote for Benedict Thomas.

Congratulations and know your in my prayers!

To get the idea of how it would all sound together, how many syllables does your last name have, and which syllable has the stress?

Have at least 2 alternatives, because when you meet that little guy for the first time, you may have to immediately ditch one of them! I thought maybe our first son could be a Colin, but when I looked into his face I knew he wasn’t! :ehh::hmmm:

Of course Son #2 had no choice, we only had 1 name left so he got that one! Thankfully it suits him very well.

P.S. I voted for Benedict Thomas, because you can shorten that to Ben or Tom. Peter is one of the names we considered but hubby hates the way Americans pronounce it “Pee-der” and not “Pee-TER.” Peter Paul just seems weird. And I have never liked the name Dominic.

🤷

I don’t know that the name is odd, but I would worry that the child’s intials will be “peepee”. He might not want to drag that through grade school. It is worth considering what kind of teasing friends will be able to wring out of a name before giving it.

I also like Dominic spelled without the “k”.

I voted for Dominick Roman. 👍

What a fun thread! I’ll have to start one of my own, since I’ve got several baby names I can’t decide on. (though I’m not even pregnant yet LOL!)

I am enjoying these responses! I think we would spell Dominic with the C instead of the CK. But I like Benedict and my wife does not.

Benedict is a cool sounding name, but not practical enough for a first name IMO. I think it would fit much better as a middle name.
