Baby Chase and Grandpa Doug

Our family is watching two special people prepare for eternal life.

Baby Chase is not yet 3 and has been battling cancer for a year. He can no longer manufacture his own blood or platelets and the bones in his little face are breaking…the cancer has spread to every part of his little body. We are praying for an end to his suffering.

Grandpa Doug, a marathon runner and overall health nut (said with love, trust me…I love the guy), was found on the running trail behind his home on Friday morning. He had suffered a major heart attack. He is not responding well. We are praying for God’s Will to be done in his life.

Quite frankly, I feel like St Teresa of Avila - if this is how You treat Your friends, Lord, no wonder You have so few of them.

But I know this is His Will…and I ask for prayers to keep us going, one step at a time.

Keep in mind that God’s ways are not our ways but I also take comfort in the fact that Baby Chase never had a chance to sin so he will be with God when he finally goes and Grandpa Doug has been given time to receive Last Rites, again putting him closer to God than if he had just died suddenly!

My prayers are for the two who are dying but also for all those who will be left behind that they take comfort in God, knowing that He will be taking the two of them to Him!

Prayers for both - maybe in at least one of their cases their organs will go to help others and will save lives and in that small way they will have chosen life by going to meet God if that is His will.
