I would have to agree with that. I know a very nice lady whose name implies she was sitting on the beach without a beach towel.I have Benjamin Clayton and Joshua Joseph aka Ben and Josh. I grew up having to spell my name before I ever said it - my parents thought it was neat to spell it Aimee. I taught high school English for four years before becoming a stay-at-home mom and I saw how truly cruel kids at school can be. Please be careful about how the first name sounds with the last name (I knew a boy name Rich Kidd) and also do not get silly with the spelling.
When I was a kid, there were little name pins you could buy at the drug store. My name is spelled Debby, and the pin was Debbie. I really wanted a pin because every one was wearing them, but my name was spelled wrong. I have a nephew named Tanner, and there are all those cute Christmas ornaments with names on them, but never a Tanner. My granddaughter is named Destyni. She’ll never get a pin with her name! A guy in grade school’s name was Micheal, and the nun gave him a huge amount of grief because he didn’t know how to spell his name…except he did! That’s how HIS name was spelled. Nothing but trouble. It’s hard enough to grow up without being named something weird or spelled wrong.
