As some may remember, Baby Taryn is my friends new little girl who was born with fluid on her brain and a tumor on her brain stem. She is now two months old and has survived her first surgery. My friend updated all of us via social media. I’d like to share that update and ask for continued prayers. Thank you all. Knowing so many are praying for their baby is a great comfort to my friend and her husband.
Update on Taryn
Today the Dr came and told us via the mri he was able to remove 60% of her tumor, it also showed she suffered a small stroke on the left side but not in the brainstem. Taryn is still on the vent they tried weaning her off but she couldn’t handle it. The vent is only set on 12 they stopped her morphine drip because that is what is causing her to not be able to breath without the vent. Her right pupil is a little larger than her left but we won’t know why until she is more awake.
As for the tumor itself we still don’t know what we are dealing with… it all depends on the pathology report and that takes 5-7 business days. Neurosurgery said they can’t risk another surgery at this time due to the fact she lost so much blood during this one.
Oncology/hematology can not tell us what their plan is until that report comes back because some brain tumors don’t respond to chemo and she is NOT a candidate for radiation.
Thank you to everyone for all the love, support and prayers we truly are grateful for them.
