A Pentecostal said that “Babylon theory” on his site, and said that the woman was dressed in purple and scarlet and showed pictures of bishops and cardinals (I think) and some liturgical vestments (red and purple are liturgical colours). (Anti-Catholics interpret the drunkenness as the Inquisition, the “wine of the fornication” as the doctrines, etc.) I’ve met with this statement at the Most Holy Family Monastery (which is a radical traditionalist site). They apply it to the post-Vatican II Church ( like as the “cup of fornication” as the wine in the New Mass, which they think invalid).
These are my questions: Is there an evidence that the Catholic Church has direct lineage (aka. the true Church) (I have some proof about the direct lineage, as according to the Letter to Smyrnaeans, early Christians professed the Real Presence)? And how are the cassock colours and the description of the woman are unrelated?
(I have a theory that states that Babylon will be related with an empire, as Revelations state that “the kings of the earth lied with her”. Purple and scarlet are regnal colours, too. According to the description, she looks like a queen.).
