When did the Babylonian Captivity take place? I’ve heard 607 BC, 606 BC, 605 BC, and 586 BC . . . which is it? I know that the date is somewhat based off of 2 Kings 25:8:
2 King 25:8
“8 In the fifth month, the seventh day of the month, that is, the nineteenth year of the king of Babylon, came Nabuzardan commander of the army, a servant of the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem.”
How can we possibly put a precise date on this event? Can someone inform me?
PS - This is not for school or anything, I was reading what JWs believe about 1914 and this topic came up. I didn’t trust their date for the Babylonian Captivity so I checked it out and found all of these other dates (the JWs say it was 607 BC).
