Quick question,
Would God “repel” friends he doesnt think are right for you?
Like you once got along, and now you just don’t click, or see each other…the others in the group of friends still talk, but not to you anymore?

Dear One,

I don’t believe that God would do something like that. Can I assume that you are quite young? I say this because young girls can be quite mean to one another for no particular reason.

Has the same thing ever happened to any others within the group?

I agree with Chochy. A wrong look, wrong word, or even an untimely smile can hit anyone in an unintended way. As I remember, there was always someone on the outs with someone else. Sometimes it was me…other times another girl.

I don’t believe God would do this. I wouldn’t let one person’s snub ruin my day or consume my thoughts and energy. Give her some time and space. If that doesn’t work, you may have to let her go.

God Bless you.

Just my opinion, I think He would.

Sometimes people just change and don’t fit together anymore.

I think it’s more likely that you have grown apart from them. Your interests aren’t the same, you see things you don’t like, or you just get bored. Human nature. Get some new interests and make new friends.

Not sure. I can’t imagine God would want us to be friends with people who are a negative influence on us. Why would he not intervene to protect us?

There is nothing wrong to distancing yourself from those people who are not right for you for whatever reason. I don’t buy into the theory that we must be open to everybody in order to evangelise. Protecting onself is extremely important, especially for young people who are often easily influenced by their peers. It is crucial, however, not to pass judgement on people’s souls in such situations. Prudence and charity must go hand in hand.

People change. I can’t imagine hanging out with some of the people I used to consider friends.

Last summer my wife was looking forward to meeting up with a formerly very close friend from college. They had been roommates for a couple years and bridesmaids in each others weddings. After sitting through two hours of conversation (dominated by the friend and her husband) I finally had to excuse myself to see what color I had painted our house. I had heard all I needed about their suburban life style, their 4 chickens (I still remember their names) and their pet pig. After they left my wife sighed and looked at me and asked “What was that?”

Im in no way bashing my friends, lol,
But it was just a thing on my mind. They are great people, but yes, maybe we have drifted apart.

EXACTLY - Did we go to school together? I remember it like it was yesterday. I still can’t hear the name Zena without feeling ill, and it was 40 years ago.
