Bad day - lost a brand new phone

Hi all,

One of those days where everything seems to go wrong.
My brand new phone got stolen and I almost fell back into depression.

Thankfully I was able to attend mass today and that was a big consolation in an otherwise difficult day.

Please for me that I keep doing God’s will and stay strong in faith despite these ups and downs and learn to detach myself from material goods.

I’m sorry for the loss of your phone. We all have our bad days; I’m sure you will get over your loss, just give it time. Keep the faith and persevere in praying.

May GOD be with you always in your journey towards spiritual perfection.

I will do what I can from the human side, going to the police/filing for insurance etc.

But I realize more and more how much I need God and how deeply addicted to my phone I was.
Maybe something good will come out of all this.

Not saying to boast, but after losing my phone, I was on my way to the church and it took me a while to realize that I had lost it. So I’m sure it’s part of God’s providential plan. If the devil thinks I will lose faith in God because of this, he is mistaken.

It is is moments like this that I start to contextualize my loss.

Yes, I’ve lost my phone but in my life I’ve gained something much greater, faith in the Son of God and membership in his Body.

O blessed St. Anthony,

the grace of God has made you a powerful advocate

in all our needs and the patron

for the restoring of things lost or stolen.

I turn to you today with childlike love and deep confidence.

You have helped countless children of God

to find the things they have lost,

material things, and, more importantly,

the things of the spirit: faith, hope, and love.

I come to you with confidence;

help me in my present need.

I recommend what I have lost to your care,

in the hope that God will restore it to me,

if it is His holy Will.
