Let’s say that someone is getting confirmed. He believes everything the Church teaches, but he’s morally struggling and too afraid of confessing certain sins. Well, he received confirmation and first communion. But a week later, and overcome by guilt, he decides to confess all of his past mortal sins that he missed prior to confirmation.

So eventhough his first communion was a bad one, is he still a confirmed Catholic?

He receives the sacrament, but not the graces. He also commits two sins which must be confessed. When he makes a good confession, he receives those graces.

So he doesn’t have to go through confirmation again, right?
