why is it a sin to think of imaginary women and enjoy an erection due to the thought? The woman does not exist.

Maybe, just maybe,
by thinking of imaginary women, you are still generally degrading women’s dignity, God’s beloved creatures with immortal souls, to just objects for you to enjoy an erection.

And you may not be hurting the imaginary woman, but you are hurting yourself. You are changing your disposition toward all women and using intimate pleasure outside it’s intended context, marriage. It’s lust.
 
How can you simply “enjoy” an erection, unless you’re involved in sex?

Erections at inopportune times are an aggravating nuisance… :mad:
