I totally agree with The Kid here…murder and abortion, etc…these are instances of killing other people, for heaven’s sake!
This couple is not killing anyone, but trying to express love to each other, whether you agree with that or not.

To compare them is…so, so, so incorrect.
Comparing evil to other evil IS so incorrect.
Evil is evil.

to judge: To form an opinion or evaluation.

Have you been forming opinions of those your debating with on the forum? I hope you haven’t evaluated our comments. That fact is you couldn’t even respond to our comments unless you formed an opinion and evaluated them  Judging in and of itself is necessary and completely moral.

“Names?” Who has called anyone “names?”

However, in terms of “judging,” the role of judging what is – objectively speaking – a sin, is something reserved to the Roman Catholic Church of which you are a member. Part of your membership in this Church – and what is spoken in the Creed at least once a week, if you are a practicing Catholic – is an implicit acknowledgement that moral authority over our lives has been granted to the Church. The Church judges as to actions, categories of sin. And she records those judgments in many locations, of which the CCC is only one.

Objectively speaking, homosexual activity is declared by your Church and mine to be sinful. Therefore, those engaging in such activity, and who admit that activity publicly, are by definition sinners. Now, all of us here undoubtedly have many different sins, some of them possibly even quite serious. But that doesn’t remove from us our authority, as members of The Church Militant here on earth, to recognize and name certain activities for what they are: sins – whether they are our own sins, or sins committed by others and admitted by those people. That would include things like:

~acknowledged adultery
~acknowledged fornication – regardless of how “loving,” “responsible,” “committed to each other,” “educated”, “sincere,” “well-meaning,” and nice-looking such fornicating couples might be;
~acknowledged theft
~acknowledged cheating on taxes
~acknowledged homosexual activity
etc.

Separate is the question of immoral attempts to seize the title “marriage” from the specific definition that your Church has taught you that it means, and apply it arbitrarily to a relationship which will never be unitive, no matter how the propaganda about it is spun. Only traditional marriage is unitive and within the Order of Creation. The document Faithful Citizenship produced collectively by the U.S. bishops (and linked on CAF’s World News forum), explains well how our Catholic understanding of universal morality and natural law must be applied to our decisions regarding what we see in the secular world (bakeries, hotels, retail outlets, popular media, political campaigns, legislation, etc.).

We have to, as to date they are inadequate.
No CCD didn’t teach me this.

I assumed that it would be of no harm to give a gay couple a cake.
Do you really think if you give a gay person a wedding cake God would damn you to hell for it?

You are making this way to complicated than it needs to be.

judge
verb /jəj/
judged, past participle; judged, past tense; judges, 3rd person singular present; judging, present participle

Form an opinion or conclusion about
  • scientists were judged according to competence
  • it is hard to judge whether such opposition is justified
  • judging from his letters home, Monty was in good spirits
Decide (a case) in court
  • other cases were judged by tribunal
Give a verdict on (someone) in court
  • she was judged innocent of murder
Decide the results of (a competition)

Here’s the definition> 😛

There judging this way more serious than it needs to be.
Abortion and Gay marriage.
Do you really think these two are compatible with each other?

Ah yet another misunderstanding about what constitutes a mortal sin as opposed to a venial sin. Would baking a cake for the couple be a mortal sin? No, because I don’t believe it would be considered a grave matter. It would however be a venial sin that would not be viewed as pleasing to God. A person could step on your toe or shoot you. Both are wrong, one much more so than the other, but they both hurt.

Food for thought: If the couple requested a “Devil’s Food Cake” for there wedding, would that be okay?🙂

Seriously?
Your comparing stepping on a toe to shooting someone? Seriously?

Are you against the court system then and are you anarchist? If I can’t tell you what you did is wrong, how can I prosecute you for it in a court of law? Or is there a difference between telling someone what they did is wrong, and telling them its a sin?

Seriously?

I was trying to get the point across that ALL sins hurt God no matter how small. We should strive to not offend God in ALL matters not just big ones.

What against the Court System?

Seriously? All I did was look the definition up on Google and copy it!

The anti-Christ. Yep you got me a 13 year old is so the anti-Christ 😛

So if it was in court the murderer should get away but the person who stepped on someone’s toe should go to jail because all sin is sin right?

Get what I am saying?

This 13 year old’s belligerent attitude and arrogance is grating on me and I think we are doing him no good by continuing to engage him as we would another adult.

Haha let me put 2 and 2 together for you.
  1. Your against judging others.
  2. The definition of “to judge” you posted included this
Decide (a case) in court
  • other cases were judged by tribunal
Give a verdict on (someone) in court
  • she was judged innocent of murder
Decide the results of (a competition)
  1. I naturally must conclude that your against judgements against a person in a court of law or a referee making a judgement that a player committed a foul in a soccer game. Please explain where I’m misinterpreting you here so I can continue to show how illogical your thinking is.
