Balancing School and Church

Hello

I am a school student, about to start an examination period. I obviously go to Mass every Sunday and I also do my Friday penance of refraining from meat. However, with lots of schoolwork I feel I will not have time to do much except the two things I mentioned and some prayers in the morning and evening. I might be wrong, but if this is the case, how am I to read the scriptures, to pray more, to study Church doctrine etc. and have non-religious free time?

I feel a little concerned that I might not have much time to devote to Our Lord. Any suggestions for how to balance these two important things?

God Bless.

I pray that God gives you balance in your life, so that you can manage to practice your faith and do school work. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (catholic03), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Sorry, I put this in the wrong category. Would someone please change it to Catholic Living/Spirituality. But thank you anyway for your continued prayers.

God Bless.

Father help this person find their way. May they by your guidance shown how to map their life to balance God and life in general. In your name, Jesus amen!

Done.

What are you studying? The word balance implies that your studies take something away from your faith life. Yes, studying takes time away from prayer, etc., but is it possible that it adds in some other way to your faith?

How long is your examination period?

Anyway, look at what you have been doing in the way of ‘reading the scriptures, praying more, studying Church doctrine etc. and having non-religious free time.’

Naturally you will cut back your free time as much as possible in order to prepare for your exams. Then look to see what there is of the other activities. Maybe you will still be able to fit them in, or maybe you will have to cut back as far as to 10 or 15 minutes of Scripture reading so as to have a little something to think about when you are waiting in line or similar.

Just try to set a little time aside each day.
The more we try, the more helps us to find a way.
Prayers for you, my friend! 🙏✝️👏✌️
