Context, context, CONTEXT!

The Prophet is speaking to WOMEN, not people of both genders.

And as if that weren’t enough, it wasn’t baldness on it’s own, but in contrast to “well-dressed hair” rather than hair.

Yeah, because messy hair was often a sign of grief in antiquity.

Obvs I was all little tongue n cheek but nevertheless one of the comments suggested vanity.
I have, err, blond hairs showing up and multiplying in my beard (I think my wife sheds them on the pillow, or some such, and they glom on).

Anyway, I have no interest in coloring them (and I think the more of them, the greater the hourly rate I can command as an attorney :)). However, my mother (who hates it) stated that a group together under my nose makes it look like mynas is dripping. And now every time I look in the mirror . . . so I just may deal with that handful . . .

Don’t do the hair transplant. So what if your head is bald. What’s on top of your head whether it’s hair or clear shine doesn’t make you. Yul Brynner shaved his head to get the bald look for his role in “The King and I.” Be proud. You are in good company.
