Obviously, James Sr. had a son with his sister. That would make James Jr. both Junior and nephew.

Hey, it’s not as far fetched as some other story lines in the series, and it may even be politically correct these days.
 
John Cleese didn;t play Q, he played Q’s assistant or something. Q was there too and I think John Cleese’s character had a different name…maybe R or Z…anyway, my point is that you shouldn’t focus on banning everything that is a blemmish, go for the obvious eyesores…like porno. Ban that. You never see wedding rings in those.

That was correct, but now is out of date. With the “retirement” of Desmond Llewelyn’s Q, his assistant, played by Cleese, was promoted to the head of Q Branch, thus became “Q”, starting with Die Another Day.

Also, a correction. Peter Burton played Major Boothroyd, the same character as Desmond Llewelyn’s Q, in Dr No, but I don’t think he was called Q in that film.

I saw snippets of a couple Bond films this weekend at my sister-in-law’s. Apparently AMC was having a Bond-fest of some sort.

They are so stupid that they would make wonderful candidates for Mystery Science Theater 3000. In fact, I had to get up and leave at least twice because I started making “Mike and the 'Bots”-type comments about some of the more obvious absurdities on the screen, and was getting dirty looks from my wife’s cousins.

They’re okay, I guess, just as long as you don’t expect them to be anything more intelligent than something along the lines of Laverne and Shirley.

I like James Bond but if you came to my house and made comments like those from Mystery Science Theater 3000 I would just laugh. But then I am not easily offended either.

Yes, Bond does get married in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Except, at the very end, while he is inspecting something on his car, some of Dr. No’s (?) henchmen shoot away with an AK-47, killing his wife. That sucked, because James Bond was all sad at the end. Instead of being in bed (not the greatest thing in the world, mind you) with another woman at the end, he’s holding his new wife’s dead body, sobbing, stating over and over again “We’ll be home soon, everything’s all right, darling…” Kinda got me emotional…

Didn’t he get married in “Thunderball” too? I remember a Asian/Hawaiian type young woman and I thought they married. She was soon killed, of course. They were sleeping and the someone lowered a string of some sort with liquid poison on it to drip the poison into Bond’s mouth, but the wife/woman got it instead.

That marriage was in You Only Live Twice, and it was a fake marriage so he could sneak onto an island used by Blofeld as a base. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, it was implied that Bond left the secret service because he got married to someone he loved. She was killed at the very end by Blofeld, which set it up for him to return to the secret service to capture Blofeld once and for all.
