JL: Honestly QC, I think you are grasping at imaginary straws. It isn’t becasue they weren’t taught the same gospel. They simple didn’t let those sayings sink in and grasp what was meant AT THAT TIME.

[Lk9:44 **Let these sayings sink down into your ears
: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.]

Christ clearly told them in Lk18:33. This is the second time Jesus has told them He will die and Resurrect. He did so in [Lk9:22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and **be slain, and be raised the third day.

They were told at the transfiguration in [Mk9:9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, **till the Son of man were risen from the dead. 10 And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.]

These things, along with other things, simply didn’t sink in till they were endued with power from on high at Pentecost. Clearly they were taught the same gospel as Paul was preaching.

[1Cor15:1 Moreover, brethren, **I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:]

[Jn20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.8 Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. 9 **FOR AS YET they KNEW NOT THE SCRIPTURE, that he must rise again from the dead.]

John20 was also before Pentecost. After Pentecost they would know a lot of OT scritprue speaking of the Christ.

This line is about baptism, If you want to continue to discuss two gospels or two kingdoms start another line. If you don’t know how let me know and I will start it.

Of course they were told about His D.B. and R., but the gospel is spiritually discerned and the 12 were not fully ready to learn the truth of 1 Cor. 15:1-4. It goes without saying that if they did not know that gospel in Luke 9 they couldn’t have been proclaiming it. The gospel they were proclaiming was that gospel of the kingdom which included the miracles, wonders and signs for the “sign people” Israel [1 Cor. 1:22]. But it did not include the truth of 1 Cor. 15:1-4. Did Peter preach the D.B. and R. on the Jewish feast day [Pentecost]? Find it for me. He did point out that there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved [Acts 4:12]. This has always been true and is transdispensational.

BTW, the title “Son of man” is a title of the Lord Jesus Christ used of His relationship to Israel and the earth. It is used 85 times in the N.T., but is not found in Paul’s epistles.

There is no doubt that Peter is preaching to the Jews that [water] baptism is necessary for the “remissiossion of their sins.” Any serious Bible student should recognize that fact. Peter was given a “great commission” to “baptize the nations in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Why do you think he is baptizing in “the name of Jesus Christ” instead of the Trinity as he was told? Do you know of any place in the book of Acts where the Trinity formula is used? QC
.

JL: You have that right there is no doubt Peter is preaching to Jews. That WATER BAPTISM is necessary for remission of their sins. Peter said be baptized everyone of you IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, to distinguish Christ’s baptism, from all those OT Jewish baptisms, including John’s, which you have been telling us about. Those OT types which Jesus’ baptism fulfilled. Christ said to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Mt28. Only Christ’s baptism washes away sin and gives the Holy Ghost etc…

JL: Of course the 12 were not FULLY ready to understand they were still being taught. They understood very little until Pentecost. What they could SOMEWHAT understand and proclaim was the kingdom. Because all Israelites were familiar and expected it, at anytime, it would have gotten their attention so they would listen.

[1Cor15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what **I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:] At Pentecost Peter preached the SAME GOSPEL as Paul preached in 1Cor15:1-4.

JL: Truly QC, there is no such thing as two dispensations it’s a tradition of men to nullify the word of God. Find it for you? Good grief, do you really think the apostles didn’t know Christ died was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven? They were witnesses to these things. Instead of posting canned texts and remarks. By book and verse # and making them appear they say what you tell us, you should be more prudent and actually read the scriptures.

The Holy Spirit knowing his audience gave Peter what to say. First Peter started, with, were those people were. The people thought Peter and the others were on new wine. That was Peter’s queue and he started there. Explaining it was as the prophet Joel said. He spoke at first of things with which the people would have been familiar. Then he begins to tell them about Jesus. And further down Peter tells us WATER BAPTISM SAVES, what it brings about and makes us members of the body of Christ the Church.

[Acts2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; **Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have CRUCIFIED and SLAIN: 24 Whom God hath RAISED UP, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.] D.B. and R same as 1Cor15:1-4.

[Acts2:36 Therefore **let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, WHAT SHALL WE DO? 38 Then PETER SAID unto them, REPENT, and BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the REMISSION OF SINS, and ye shall RECEIVE the gift of the HOLY GHOST. 39 For THE PROMISE IS UNTO you, AND to YOUR CHILDREN, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, SAVE YOURSELVES from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were BAPTIZED: and the same day there were ADDED UNTO THEM about three thousand souls.] How did they save themselves from a evil generation BEING BAPTIZED?

42 And THEY CONTINUED stedfastly IN THE APOSTLES’ DOCTRINE and FELLOWSHIP, and in BREAKING OF BREAD (we call it Mass), and in PRAYERS. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord ADDED TO THE CHURCH daily SUCH AS SHOULD BE SAVED.]

QC please notice these JEWS, to whom Peter preached, were ADDED TO THE CHURCH, spiritual Israel the kingdom, sprouted seed of the kingdom on earth, in full bloom in heaven. That ONE Catholic (universal ALL NATIONS) Church the bride of Christ. The Church, on earth, God’s pilgrim people in the wilderness on the way to the promised land. Many have already crossed the Jordan and into NEW JERUSALM. The Church in glory.

[Eph5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved **THE CHURCH, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might SANCTIFY and CLEANSE it WITH THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD,] How does scripture tell us we are sanctified and cleansed by washing?

[Act22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and **BE BAPTIZED, and WASH AWAY THY SINS, calling on the name of the Lord.]

Paul even checked his teaching with that one sanctified fellowship, to which he was ADDED also. Thru BAPTISM by water AND of the Spirit.

[Gal2:1 Then fourteen years after I WENT UP AGAIN TO JERUSALEM with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. 2 And I went up BY REVELATION, and COMMUNICATED UNTO THEM that GOSPEL which I PREACH among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, LEST BY ANY MEANS I SHOULD run, or HAD RUN, IN VAIN.] Christ promised the Holy Spirit would guide them into ALL TRUTH, Jn16:13. The household of God, the Church, pillar and ground of TRUTH, 1Tm3:15.
