Baptism during Lent

We are speaking to the person who first arranged for the Baptism. As we gain more information, I will advise. It is important to be at peace amidst this hurt. I am sure God’s Will will be evident.

AMAZING …so I wonder why so many parents wait MONTHS to baptize their children after they are born??
My daughter just had a baby and her husband is active duty military; they are posted on the other side of the country. They want their parents (and the baby’s godparents - not by proxy) to be present at the baptism, and the first time they can return home will be during Lent. I don’t know about other parents, but this sounds perfectly valid to me.

I’d be having my kid baptized the instant I could. It’s not just a picture opportunity, it’s a Sacrament, so I’d be too scared to even think of waiting.

Right - so many people treat it the same as a birthday party or other social gathering - it’s not. It’s the salvation of that child’s soul, and his incorporation into Christ’s Church.
