The daughter of one of my friends is being baptized this Sunday. I just realized I have not gotten a gift for her. Would it be appropriate to have a mass said for her instead of a more traditional gift?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Depends on her age. In my mind, a Mass is always the perfect gift. But if the daughter is a little girl and not an infant, why not bring along a wooden rosary for kids or a religious coloring book.

The baby is 5 months old, so she won’t know whether or not she gets anything. I just hate to show up empty handed.

Then the Mass is simply a lovely idea IMO. Just make sure when you’re shuffling through the Mass cards, you don’t pick a Memorial Mass one by mistake.😉

The ladies in our parish office make sure to give you the proper card when you book the mass! 🙂 Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut and have a nice, albeit cold, weekend.
