Hello,
after being received into the Church at Easter, my children are being baptised at the end of this month. We would like to get them each a gift but am unsure what to get as when I’ve been looking around, traditional gifts are obviously for babies. We have an 8 yr old boy, a 5 yr old boy and 5 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Melissa

There are some lovely holy water fonts out there; everything from high end collectables to more reasonably priced. We always had one hanging on the wall in each bedroom next to the door and kept it filled for a quick “blessing.” A good reminder of the waters of baptism.

What about a book, or a collection of books? I’ve seen some beautiful Catholic Children’s Bibles that I thought would make lovely gifts.

Nice chain rosaries, necklace with medal (Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Michael, Miraculous Medal, etc.), small statue of their patron saint for on their dresser, simple daily prayer booklets.

I would also recommend something that is unique to each of them, something that is or will be special for each individually.

At each of our children’s Baptism, we gave them a crucifix suitable for a lifetime. It was one designed to be hung on their bedroom wall. As they grew older, each came to appreciate the gift in different ways.

Thank you all for your ideas, there are some great suggestions there.
