Hello again,
First of all, I would like to apologize to both Manny and Drifter that I was not able to get back to you today. After I posted I was caught in a swarm of activity until just about ten minutes ago.
I would like to comment on the discussion you two are having on baptism concerning “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt. 28:19)
And also, Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)
Just so you know what I am about, I am a follower of Christ. I have no membership with any certain denomination. For as Paul said, Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” (Peter) or “I am of Christ.”
He goes on to say in the next verse, "Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul (1Cor. 1:12-13)
And as Jesus prayed, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one, as you Father, are in Me, and I in you; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17: 20-21)
Which brings me to the original point. One says, We are to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. And, the other says that we are to baptize in the name of Jesus.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Drifter said somewhere (and I’m paraphrasing) that to baptize in the name of Jesus, is to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Now, that being said, is it not also true that when one baptizes in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit they are baptizing in the name of Jesus?
Code:
Jesus Himself said that he and the Father are one. And Jesus also said to His disciples, "It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you." (John 16:7)
This is the proof of the Holy Spirit also being present in Him...as it is written: "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Col.2:9)
Which as we know was the reason it was necessary for the disciples to tarry in Jerusalem to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Isn't the Trinity doctrine evident throughout the scriptures?
Yet, consider this, do you think that the reason we have so much trouble understanding the Oneness of the Holy Trinity is because we do not understand the Oneness of the body as Paul explains in (1Cor.12:12-20).
Isn’t he saying the same thing? Is it possible we do not understand it because we do not apply it? I mean, since we are so divided, how can we possibly understand Oneness?

When Jesus prayed, "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one, as you Father, are in Me, and I in you; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me."
Look at this: Since Jesus is in the Father, and the Father in Jesus, and the Holy Spirit indwells us...it is necessary in order for the Holy Trinity or Jesus' body to be manifested to the world that the body be one in Christ! Again, "Is Christ divided?
Just as the "Fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Jesus bodily" (or in His physical body); now, when the Father and the Son and the and the Holy Spirit are One in the church, then Christ is manifested to the world! "That the world may believe." Because as it stands right now the Godhead hasn't been completed on earth, because we are divided. thus the reason for the ineffectiveness of the body on earth.
Because in Ephesians Paul wrote: “till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of Christ.” (Eph.4:13)

Do you realize that if we as the body were one, and exact representation of Christ Jesus (The Trinity) how the power of Christ to heal the sick, to open the eyes of the blind, and the ears of the deaf, to feed the multitudes would be possible?
Just as the people flocked to Jesus when He was here on earth, they would flock to the church the body of Christ! Not this denomination or that one...but they would pursue Christ just as they did when He was here on earth.
"Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest" (John 5:35b)
Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift!!!
