My husband insists that the verse in Acts 2:38 states that we must be baptized in “the name of Jesus.” I say that the trinitarian formula meets the requirement, because Jesus is the name of the son. He insists that we should do exactly as Peter did in Acts. How can this be resolved? I believe the teaching of the Church in this matter, but he is not Catholic and believes that a great deal of the Church’s teaching conflicts with the Bible. This point is his lynchpin, I believe. Can you help? Thanks in advance!
