Photos from the Baptism/Confirmation/Communion of my wife, Eri, and my daughter, Sakura!

Before anyone comments we belong to a mission, and the facility we used is a very stripped-down Roman Catholic parish. That is why things weren’t quite done in the typical Melkite form. Next stop will be my official transfer to the Melkite Church, made very easy now that the rest of my family is Melkite.

P.S. Does anyone know if there are any other Japanese Melkites? I’m hoping my wife is the first. 😛

A Google search for “Japanese Melkites” yields a few results about how Archbishop Elias Chacour (Galilee) received the Niwano Peace Prize (some sort of Japanese award started by a Japanese Buddhist who was an observer at Vatican II) for his humanitarian work, but nothing about any Melkite presence among the Japanese. Perhaps your wife and child are the first!
