Baptism or Christening?

I bought a baptismal gift today which is a frame engraved with the words ‘My Christening’ on it. I didn’t think about it too much, and then I friend asked me if a Christening was the same as a Baptism? I assumed it was, but it started to make me wonder if they were different, or if perhaps it was just a different name in a different denomination or something.

So, my question - is it appropriate to call a Catholic baptism a ‘Christening’?

Sometimes the terms are used interchangeably. However they can mean two different things also.
