baptism question

In regards to having your child baptised Catholic, yet not wanting to raise them in the Catholic faith. Is it just me or is something wrong with this statement?
I am making a promise to God to raise my child in FAITH. Don’t all Christians have the same faith - that our salvation was given to us through the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ?
 
What are the vows a parent makes when baptising their child into the Catholic faith? Do we not take the vow to raise the child Catholic? If we do take that vow, yet when we say it, we have NO intention of bringing the child up in the Catholic faith, it would be a lie to God? Basically you are only doing it because of tradition in your family to do so. Thanks for all replies.
 
When a child is baptized into the Catholic Faith, the parents are to then raise that child into the fullness of the Faith which Christ entrusted to His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. While the Church accepts all Trinitarian baptisms as authentically Christian, it know that those churches or denominations have a lack of the fullness already present in His Catholic Church. So, simple faith in Christ, while good, does not bring with it all the fruits of full union with Him in His Church. This is why Catholic parents promise (but don’t officially vow) to bring their children to the full experience and knowledge of Christ’s One Church.

To make this promise and then not to follow-through with it is a great disservice to one’s child and is certainly a sin against the Faith which one has supposedly embraced on behalf of the child.
 
Thank YOU! that is what i thought. i knew vow was not the correct termonology, but that is estrogen loss happening here 🙂
