The nurse, who is Hindu, knows that the Catholic parents would want the child baptized. In their absence, she takes water, sprinkles it upon the infant and says the words, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Her intent is to baptize as the parents believe. The baptism is valid.
Nurses in India are not expected do such things. Their job is to cater to the medical needs, not spiritual ones.

What about a catholic nurse? She might “baptise” a Hindu child on sly and secretly. In one case it led to prosecution of a nurse too.

But what is the RCC stand on this issue?

When an infant is baptized, it is the parents/guardian requesting it on the behalf of the child. As an adult, it is a matter of making an informed decision, and understanding everything it entails. As I said in a post early on, I don’t know of many churches that will do a baptism without some sort of follow up, or instruction.
Of course they will try to follow up, in that they are little different then churches who wish that you wait until you receive instruction from them before baptizing someone. However just as the OP is trying to get around the specific indoctrination classes for his baptism he can ignore follow up attempts.

The most famous “Peaches” from the 60s and 70s R&B/Disco act Peaches and Herb and her husband run a series of crusades called the WOW Jams. After the crusades hit a town they baptize the newly born again as soon as possible. Normally the weekend before the crusades move on to another part of the country. As traveling evangelist they represent no specific church looking to add to its membership rolls and the churches and ministers who aid in their efforts come from many faithful denominations. The year my home church helped them we did a public baptism for hundreds on Santa Monica beach next to the pier.

Just saying if you feel the need to be baptized an evangelic will most likely do it for you

Well I mean what I said in my post was that if you do not get baptized in the Catholic Church will you eventually maybe regret that later if you want to be Catholic later?

If you are just going to go anywhere to get baptizied, you might want to find one closest to your beliefs. Some churches believe in believers baptism, and it has no impact on salvation.
The CC thinks something different. So you just need to research a little.

What are your problems with the other sacraments? Eucharist? Confession? Confirmation?
By the way, confirmation is a lot like baptism in a sense, that you are receieving the gifts of the Holy Spirit…
I dont have any issue with the other sacraments. In fact, I long for the day I can partake in the Eucharist, discerning it fully, so I do not eat and drink damnation on myself, as Paul said.

Why do you think I would regret not being baptised in the catholic church, if I were to later become a catholic?

Isn’t all valid baptism’s recognosed by the catholic church? I though I was either baptised, or I wasnt?

As the sacrament of baptism puts an indelible mark of Christ on the soul, surely there isn’t '‘degrees’ of baptism (Im refering to valid baptisms here) and that the catholic churchs baptism is somehow ‘‘better’’ than say, a methodist or lutheran baptism?

Or am I worng here?
