I have been baptised by both the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church and i dont know which Baptism was the only ‘First and real Baptism’

As we believe in the creed ‘I believe in One baptism for the forgiveness of sins’

I dont know which Church i belong to

Catholics tell me my Catholic Baptism was the real one and Orthodox people tell me im Orthodox but i really dont know
 
Baptism doesn’t necessarily dictate what Church you are a member of. I was Baptised in the Anglican Church, however both my priest and Bishop (as well as many others) accept me as being fully Orthodox.

Generally when Orthodox give Baptisms it’s a “just in case” thing. As I said I never had it, instead I was received by economia.

As to which one you are depends on which one you agree with on matters of doctrine, and which one you attend to receive the Eucharist. This is something no one else can tell you, unfortunetly.

Ok then Ive been Baptised And Chrismated/Confirmed at both Churches

So i have the requirements to say ‘yes’ to someone who asks me if im Catholic and ‘yes’ to someone who asks me if im Orthodox

I have the Requirements to participate both in the Sacraments at both Rome and Orthodoxy

But as for the moment i go to both Churches ,use the sacraments at both,
I dont know what to say that i am,i dont know where i would get married and i dont know where i would decide to have my funeral

Thanks be to our instigators of the division all ‘our Bishops’

You have no requirement to participate in both, and in fact that is very unhealthy. You’ll have to make the decission, which do you agree with on the major issues. That is what you are.
 
But going back and regarding my first question ,it was how do i know which Baptism and Chrismation is the “One baptism for the forgiveness of sins”

The one at Rome or the one at Constantinople?

If Romes Baptism and Confimation was real ,then id be happy to remain at Rome and be Catholic but if the Orthodox Baptism and Chrismation is the true one then i guess id be Orthodox

My friend you should no more partake of the sacraments of both Churches than you should have sexual relations with your neighbors spouse. The Eucharist in particular is an experience as intimate between a person and Christ as the marriage bed is for spouses.

You can visit your neighbor, have dinner with them and so on but you would never sleep with their spouse. It is the same between Catholics and Orthodox. We can visit each other and love one another but we can never partake of each others Eucharist. It is spiritual adultery and rightly results in excommunication.

My Orthodox Priest understands the situation a bit better so he doesnt ‘ex-communicate me’
Discretion is used.

My main question is the above about not knowing which Baptism and Chrismation is real

Catholic Priests have told me the Orthodox just gave me a ‘Bath’ and no baptism but any Orthodox would consider differently

I dont know who to believe

Then he is not a very Orthodox priest at all if he allows you to commune at a Catholic parish and his parish.

The Orthodox answer is that the Church accepts no sacraments outside of the Church. Your Orthodox baptism was grace-filled.

I never said the Preist allows me to Commune at RC ,he does tell me NOT to

I said he doesnt Ex-communicate me

I gather your assuming im a good little Obedient guy who doesnt say boo unless its with a blessing from the Priest

What do you mean “Outside the Church”

Don’t worry about it. It’s in God’s hand. Concern yourself with obeying God and living for Him. Remember, God knows your heart. That’s scary and conforting. For some it should be very scary and not conforting; for others is should be very conforting and only a little scary. I’m at best 50-50. How about you?

Excommunicates himself from what? Christ? God?

As a Catholic you would believe Christ is present in your Sacrament and that also Orthodox Holy Communion is also Valid.

So where am i going wrong in Gods eyes? Isnt God both present here and there?

Or is it our petty Brothers and sisters all hateful and spiteful of eachother and eachothers Churches who cant work towards loving and forgiving and accepting each other

Both of my posts made it clear that I was speaking of the Orthodox Church and Orthodox Church’s position on sacraments not performed in an Orthodox church. So when I said outside the Church the subject of the the was obviously the Orthodox Church. 🤷

Well if i say that even Rome calls itself THE Roman Catholic Church

why should i assume when you say outside THE church that you are talking about the Orthodox Church?

When you said-

Paul, the Sacrament of Baptism, is an indelible mark on the soul, if it is given in the Trinity formula. If you first rec’d it in the Catholic Church it was authentic, if in the Orthodox it was also, If it was in another Christian Church first other than those two it was also authentic,👍🙂 Peace, Carlan
 
Hi! I am Greek Orthodox and Paul I will like to assure you that your first Baptism was real and any others are not necessary and are in fact invalid. You can only be baptized once. Any others are not valid. This does not mean that Orthodox Baptism is invalid. What it means is that you have received your Baptism at a Church and therefore cannot be repeated. Had you been at a Orthodox Church first than this Baptism was valid. It does not matter where you receive it because Orthodox and Catholics acknowledge each others Sacraments. I must disagree with my Orthodox brethren regarding Catholic reception of Orthodox Sacraments because both Churches have valid Sacraments and therefore the Jesus on the Orthodox altar and the Jesus on the Catholic Altar is the same Jesus and therefore it is not necessary to rebaptize or reconfirm a Roman Catholic. If a RC wishes to come to an Orthodox Church there may be problems but the problem is with the priest not the Church. Sure the Orthodox have statements regarding Roman Catholics coming to receive but I am fully against such behavior. Our Roman Catholic brethren have the right to receive our Sacraments just as Orthodox have the right to receive the Sacraments of the Church of Rome. I am making bold statements here and I am writing a book as to clarify my position. I know this will anger many Orthodox ( I do not know about the RC ) but I feel enough is enough! Our world is crumbling under the weight of its own iniquity and let us bury and I mean bury this feud. We need to be brothers again so we can go hand to hand to fight this onslaught that we are engaged. It must drive Our Lord crazy to see all this bickering and I am going to make a statement here that will offend alot of people. I believe it is sinful to continue this feud and anyone who wishes to continue it sins and anyone who wishes for unity will please God. I mean God needs us to help Him convert the world. He doesn’t need us fighting each other! We have to be concern of Our Lord’s interests not our own. Put aside your pride and let us acknowledge each other as brothers. That is all it takes to end this. Statements from the Orthodox regarding the RC are not pleasing to God. I mean that is His Church as well! We Orthodox need to wake up because our RC brethren are in need of us. We have the power and wisdom to know the better and I believe we are at a crucial time now with this planet been engage in a all out war. Our battle is not with flesh and blood! It is amazing how the devil got us fighting each other! He is having a good time with this. Let us face the truth and turn this around and excuse my expression kick his butt. We need to face this enemy and together we can " kick his butt!" I know my language can be a light heavy but I need to say it and we need to face our enemy together and not divided. My book will explain much more and read my other posts to see for yourself the many points I want to clarify on. God Bless!
 
Do you believe Jesus is really present in the Catholic Communion and the Orthodox Communion?

If you eat the Communion at Rome ,that means accordingly you have recieved Jesus inside of you, allowed by the Grace and Mercy of God.

If you were half asleep one morning and stumbled across an Orthodox Priest holding a Chalice in his hands and you said to yourself “Oh my Jesus ,im before you again my Love,here i will take you in again just like i have done so before in Rome,accept me my Lord as you have done before,”

What would happen if you opened your mouth to recieve Him?

What would the Orthodox Priest say?
Would he say ,no Sister,you are not worthy to recieve Jesus,

But you would say “But no Father,hes come into me many times before”
"Whats the difference if i take Him in there or here’
“Please tell me Father”

What would he say?
