I would klike to know:John the baptist baptised. Where did this practice come from. I do not see it practiced anywhere in the bible before him.

Baptism grew out of the ritual washing of the Jews. There are numerous places in the Old Testament where such washing is prescribed (see, for example, Ex 29:4). The story of the cure of Naaman is another example that looks very much like baptism. It’s found in 2 Kings 5:1-14.
